Toad insurance

Does anyone know if I should notify my toad's insurance that we are towing it? I don't want to give them any information that I don't have to as that could stir things up. However, I also don't want to have them deny a claim because towing the vehicle behind a MH isn't really the "norm". I'm afraid there will be a loophole for them to use. Thanks.

Not a peep. That's not a question they ask, nor in my opinion is it something they need to know. If your owner's manual says that it is towable, then you are using the vehicle in accordance with the owner's manual. If it does NOT say it's towable and you tow it, that's another matter!

I guess the more important question would be whether the toad is covered if someone rear ended it while it was being towed?

i am not possitive, but i believe when you tow your car it is covered under the MH insurance if you are in a accident.

The toad is covered by its own collision and comprehensive while under tow or not. If it causes damage to something or somebody else while under tow, it is covered by the motorhomes liability insurance. If it breaks away from the motorhome and causes damage to persons or property, it would be covered by both the motorhome liability and its own liability insurance.

The coach's own collision and comprehensive insurance does not cover the vehicle in tow, nor a trailer either.

As a claims adjuster handling RV claims, the above post is correct. Just make sure u have comp and collision on the vehicle being towed. If not and the towed vehicle sustains damage, you are on your own.
