Toad selection

Hi,
We are near pulling the trigger on a Anthem 44 DLQ, but I'd rather not buy a toad. I'd like to use my 2007 4WD Tahoe. The Curb weight is 5600 lbs.
It has the 2-spd transfer case, so should be perfect for 4 wheels down.

Is this too heavy to use as a toad?
Anything else I should be concerned about?

Thanks, Tom

I have a 44 DLQ and pull a Dodge Laramie Longhorn. I'm pretty sure it is in that same weight range. As far as being towable I'm not sure about the Tahoe. Noel

That model has a hitch rated for 15,000lb, and up to 15,000lb tow capacity (GCWR-GVWR). I don't think you'll have any issues at all with a 5,600lb toad. Get a tow bar rated for at least 10,000lb.

Better Check the dinghy report from FMCA. Seems like Toyotas weren't towable. I may be wrong but it's where I would check first then the owner's manual.

I don't think weight will be an issue as noted above - We tow a Silverado - no issues with weight or anything else for that matter.

i pull an 08 Tahoe with no issues at all. One of the easiest and the ISL handles it fine. -Ron
