TOAD speed limit

So wondering if in the TOAD guides, the speed restriction is for limiting damage to drive train or just a safety rating. Especially the ones that are 65mph.
I would ASSume that the ones with 30 or 35mph would be only for and emergency tow.
The ones I am wondering about are the Honda CR-v and the Equinox.

65 max on a CRV. STOP every 6 hours and run engine to circulate oil in trans.
Course we stay under 60ish. Cruise set on 60-61. CRV easy. Start, run thru gears
Put in nuetral for 2 minutes turn ignition to Acc. Last year tho is 2014.

One reason I have been told by a mechanic for the 65 MPH limit is both a bit about protecting the drive train but also to avoid foaming of the tranny fluid. He said occasional excursions above 65 aren't a big deal such as in the case of short duration speed increase on a down hill.

Take that for what it is worth.

Most of us with MHs usually cruise at between 60 and 65 even if the toad has no tow speed limit. We typically get the best milage at those speeds.
I tow a CRV and typicaly cruise at 62-64 and occasionally go above 70 on some down grades. As Sky Boss eluded, the limit is not a hard "never exceed". You simply don't want to tow above that speed for any length of time.

The owner's manual on my Honda 2013 CRV AWD says to repeat the procedure every 8 hours, and also to remove the 7.5A accessory radio fuse.
