toad wiring

2008 Winnebago 35A towing a 2011 GMC Canyon with new wiring harness with diodes. After hookup, I press the brake on toad and brake lites come on on motorhome. will that be a problem when I hook up my brakemaster to the brake in the toad and both brakes activate at the same time?? Ken

The diodes keep from feeding back into the Canyon's circuits, but they do not prevent feeding from the Canyon into the MH lights. so that is the reason this happens.

Now your real question, the Brakemaster should be close enough timing that it is not an issue. Besides, worse case if the Canyon lights and MH lights are on before any real braking by MH is the person behind you will see you are going to be slowing down. I would not worry about it.

The diode should prevent the brakes in the car from lighting the brake lights in the coach that's why they are used. You need to check your wiring.

I was worried about both 12v systems in use at the same time and blowing fuses. Will that be a problem? Ken

Agree, should be no car voltage going back to the motorhome. Wired correctly, The diode assembly prevents feedback.

Try and live up to your dogs opinion of you.

When you press the brakes in the coach does the GMC brake lights come on? They should. If they don't, it sounds like the diodes were installed backward. If they do, it sounds like the diodes were incorrectly connected or are shorted out.
