You will get better answers, especially on the braking system, if you indicate what MH you have.

I use a Blue Ox base plate & a Ready Brute tow bar/surge brake system. Cool Tech furnished the wiring harness. About as simple as you can get but works very well.

X2 on blue ox. Love the removable posts and no cross bar. Less baggage.

I use a Roadmaster Sterling and the RVi Brake. Very happy with both.

Having used a Roadmaster tow-bar setup for 3 years, I'll say it is a good solid bar, as is Blue Ox, the leaders of the industry.

Blue Ox is what I''m buying this time. A Blue Ox base-plate does have a cross-bar for heavy-duty applications, but it is behind the bumper/ air dam, built into the base-plate=hidden.

Check out the Currie tow bar mounting plate for the Jeep. Nicely done and provides front skid plate protection as well. It's a clean, neat install.
I use the Currie, with Roadmaster Sterling tow bar and Brakemaster (air) brake in the Jeep (2015 Wrangler Rubicon).

I just purchased the complete tow package to flat tow my 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. I went through etrailer for everything. Blue Ox tow bar, baseplate, wiring kit, separate brake light diode kit and the Roadmaster Invisibrake system. Make sure you check your receiver hitch rating. I had to get a new hitch too. My hitch was only rated for 3500 lbs. My Wrangler is approximately 4300 lbs.

Good luck!

John
