Tow bar for 2013 Fusion Hybrid

I've got an old 10,000 lb rated Blue Ox Aladen II. It's about $200 to have it rebuilt by Blue Ox... including shipping. Then there is a possibility that they may determine that a new one is in order.
I've seen factory refurbished towbars that are pretty reasonable. $450-$550.
If I'm towing a Ford Fusion Hybrid (3700lbs) Seems like a 6500 lb towbar would be appropriate instead of the 10,000 lb unit?
Its easy to think that bigger is safer. But is it?

It wouldn't hurt to have an overrated tow bar. If it can be repaired, you're set.

The good thing about an overrated tow bar is that it probably won't break.

The bad thing about an overrated tow bar is that it's much heavier than a lesser sized correctly rated bar.

A lighter towbar makes connecting, disconnecting, and storage a litter easier and much faster.

Hi,
Thanks. I'm considering a Class IV 10K lb Blue Ox Aventa II 2" BX7355 RB
for $470 + $22 shipping.
I'm so cost conscious because I also need the baseplate, iight kit and aux brake system.

Good tow bar the 7355, I have the BX 7445 and found it new on eBay for less than $575 and free shipped and that is the new design with the ball swivel. American Rv has the refurb BX 7445 with free ship for $550 and I saw them a few month ago somewhere for under $500.

Darn, I thought it was the ball swivel.
Fortunately, out next road adventure is to Sturgis and we'll use a trailer. Pretty good stalling technique....huh?

Have you checked with Ford? I thought the only Fusion you could flat tow is the man. Trans. Don't want you to damage a very expensive drivetrain! :-)

As per Owners Manual, pg. 208. "Put transmission in N, ignition in 'Acc' position. Do not exceed 70 mph."
