I don't know which is "better", but I leave mine on the MH year round.

More convenient and less susceptible to damage to have it on the motorhome.

But it is "different strokes for different folks". You may see things differently.

I recommend a tow bar that remains on the motorhome when disconnected. Makes life easier.

I was told by a supposed "expert" that the extra weight of tow bars left on the front of cars could cause problems with front suspensions, tire wear, etc. I suppose if true the issue might be more on smaller cars than larger,heavier models. I also thought they did not look good left on the car. Mine stays with motorhome.

While towing, it is better for the tow bar to stay with both! Sorry, I couldn't resist it.
