Tow Dolly
I have a question concerning our TowMaster tow dolly: are you suppose to be able to straighten the dolly once you unload your car? If my dolly is not perfectly straight when I unload I cannot straighten it by hand,, are they suppose to be that stiff and tight? I suppose I can loosen the center bolt, but I wanted to hear other thoughts about this!

mine is also really tight like that, I can straighten it by using a little force with my legs. mostly I just make sure that it's straight before unloading.

We can't even move it's with our legs,,, thinking it much to tight.

Occasionally, I'll back off on the center bolt. I'll also spray lubricant between the pan and plastic slide plates.

Knee or rubber mallet. If its new, it might just need a few trips to loosen it up.

Why would you need that the dolly be straight when you unload ?
It unloads without any problem, even if the dolly is not straight and the opposite to load the car on the dolly, what is the problem loading even if the dolly is not straight ?
I've used a dolly for the past 4 years and never bothered about the dolly being straight for loading or unloading it. ?

does your dolly have a pivoting deck? unload and loading with the deck pivoted alot brings the side of the vehicle being loaded/unloaded closer to the wheel finders and the possibility that it might hit. it also affects how the ramps are when you tilt the deck down.

I agree with you Brian, but you can still load the car onto the dolly just by having your front wheels aligned with your ramps, the same goes for unloading.

How do you judge where the ramp are, if they are crooked to the dolly fenders?
I back off when the swivel plate is turned, just turn the wheel going down. But going up I want everything straight, so I can push the tires evenly against the stops.
