I towed one for years behind my old class C and did what ever the posted speed limit was. Some of the rental tow dollys have a sticker on them that says 45mph maximum, but so do U-Haul trailers, ever see one of them doing 45 on the freeway...

We rent tow dollies. They have the 45 MPH sticker on them but I don't know why. Our customers rocket down the interstate at 75 with them. Actually, it's worse when they're empty because they bounce more and when the tires come back down to earth they aren't turning as fast and the sidewalls really have to flex when the rubber bites the road and the tire speeds up again. The wheel bearings are basically GM style modular assemblies from front wheel drive vehicles. They're all designed for high speed so I don't see a problem. Our biggest maintenance is fenders from renters who don't know how yo use them. Everyone wants to put a bulldozer on the back ofthem and wonders why the fenders get torn up when they turn.
