Tow Dolly Thoughts

Ok, I have a Subaru. Can't tow 4-down. Need a dolly. What would you recommend that could be reasonably easily used by older female? Is there some sort of electric or hydraulic something that can be attached to dolly to allow it to be moved without using a great deal of muscle when storing at campground? Thank you!

We have, use and love our Acme EZE Tow Dolly...BUT...

...WARNING, most all Subaru cars are "Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive" and CANNOT be safely dolly towed, AFAIK.

If the car can't be flat towed, most all "All Wheel Drive" cars require a a Trailer/Car Carrier to be towed.

Trailer Pros include ease of driving (can be backed-up) and protection to the car.
The Cons include cost and added weight of the trailer and what to do with it at a destination that offers smaller RV spots.

Best luck

AWD Subaru vehicles with manual transmission can be towed with all four wheels on the ground and the transmission in neutral. When towing a manual transmission Subaru behind your motor home, you would want the transmission in neutral and the key in the 'ACC' position. As all new models are equipped with digital odometers, mileage will not accumulate when being towed.

I can't give you advice on if your vehicle is dolly towable or not, however, being an older female that uses a ezetow dolly, I can tell you how I move mine around.

I use something like this:

Shop Buffalo Tools Steel Dolly at Lowes.com

1996 Newmar Mountain Aire. 3760 CA
2006 to 2015 Boxer named Cash (aka Cassius Clay)
2016 - Boxer named Chevy
