We have a '93 Grand Cherokee for which we haven't bought the tow package. We planning on buying a Jeep Liberty in a couple of months. Can the same base plate be used on both vehicles? I don't want to buy one for the GC and have to turn around and buy one for the Liberty.

No they are different. I had one one my Cherokee then got one for the Grand Cherokee but now I'm towing a Colorado ... about $ 1000 in base plates!

That's what I thought. Thanks for verifying it. Guess I wait until we get the Liberty before buying a base plate.
