Tow Question - Patriot?
If this is in the wrong place please move it to the right spot.
We are looking at getting a new toad and considering changing from a Wrangler to a Patriot.
I'd like to know if anyone on the Forum is towing one and how they like it.
Any help would be appreciated.

When we were looking for a toad the Patriot (automatic trans) was NOT towable four wheels down. Got a Chevy Equinox and love it!

Don't take a salesman's word regarding tow-ability. When I'm looking for a toad at almost any lot, I am the one informing them which are towable, even their new rigs. BTW, not all Jeeps are towable. Not all years of Equinox a re towable, though the last couple of years are and folks do like them. ANY front wheel drive with a 5sp manual transmission is towable. The issue is the manual. We've had two, a Honda Accord, and now a Scion xB. Both tow well. We have also towed a '97 Jeep Grand Cherokee, an '02 Acura MDX (yes, it's towable), and an '01 GMC Yukon (wonderful, but heavy and thirsty).

I don't think so. Google "Trailer Life Towing Guides" for a complete listing by year.

Motor Home Mag has a great towing guide. Also. "Remcotowing" makes the transmission pump for a lot of automatics and they have a guide of what is tow-able with or without their pump

We re thinking about possibly selling the Wrangler.
I guess what I'm looking for is a vehicle with 4 wheel drive capability like the Patriot but could still be towed 4 down.
Thanks for the replies.

Definitely NO for the Eclipse. That is the ONLY reason I traded my 2011 Spyder GT. I loved that car, but could not flat tow it.
