Hello All,
My husband and I have waited a long time to join the RVing world!! We are so excited. We are looking to tow a vehicle and would like to tow all 4 wheels on the ground. I've been trying to get info on this. What kind of vehicles can be towed in this way?

Welcome to IRV2.

Your best bet is to check the owners manual of the vehicle you want to buy and see if it can be towed 4 down.

Other options are:

Motorhome Magazine and FMCA just put out their annual list of towable vehicles but they don't cover all vehicles.

You can also check REMCO for their advice on towing.

Remco's DriveShaft Coupling

Personally I wouldn't recommend towing a vehicle until you have driven your RV long enough to be comfortable with it. Until then you can rent a vehicle at your destination if you need one. It does take some planning ahead.

Good Luck,
Jon

Welcome ljj and hubby. With what kind of RV are you going to be towing this vehicle? That can make a lot of difference in what you tow. In what size vehicle are you both comfortable? What kind of vehicle do you both like?

More vehicles with manual transmissions are towable than with automatics. And many 4 wheel drive vehicles are towable that have a neutral in transfer case. But bottom line, as suggested here, look at one or more of the guides to see what might work for you, and when you narrow down your selection, check the owners manual to be sure. Welcome to RVing.

Welcome to the forum. You could also do a search on toads in the forum. A lot has been discussed...
