Towable cars

Next step for me as anew RV'er is to find a car to tow behind my new Newmar. In my research, it seems that there is a trend away from making cars that are flat towable by manufacturers. Between model years 2014 and 2015, I found both the Honda CR-V and the Dodge Challenger going from flat towable to not allowed by the manufacturer. Both underwent transmission changes between those model years. I confirmed this by downloading owners manuals for both cars, both years.

Yep. I am waiting to see if the 2015 Ford Edge is towable like the 2014 or if they did a change like they did with the Escape. There is still the good old manual Forester as a fall back.

We picked the Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland with the Diesel engine, we've been very happy with it.

Air ride suspension and over 21 mpg in town, what's not to like.

I believe the Chevy Malibu LTZ is still towable. You also have the Equinox AWD which is just a little bigger then the CR-V you mentioned.

Get a hold of The Motorhome Magazine Dingy Guide. They publish it every year and it details every towable car for the current model year.

We tow a Jeep Wrangler 4 down. It's our second one (2008, 2012).
