Just curious, what is your towable of choice? we are considering purchasing a 2020 Newmar 4081.

We really like our 2013 Honda CRV AWD. They can be towed 4-down through the 2014 models.

Going through the toad selection and connection process myself at this time. I would suggest that the first and key decision is the overall use you plan for the toad, that is, does it sit idle when not being towed or does it serve as a general family vehicle when not doing toad duty.

We tow a Ford C-Max. This comes as a regular hybrid or a plug-in. This is also my everyday driver. Unfortunately, I understand they are no longer being made.

Luxury vehicle with excellent towing characteristics. Takes 5 minutes to attach/detach. Mine is a 2011 and has all of the Blue Ox tow package installed. With the pneumatic brake system you can't even tell it is back there and yet have the convenience and curb appeal to go to the opera if you need it or venture off into difficult off road conditions. Transmission disconnect from the factory with the push of a button makes it super easy.

Same here except ours is FWD, we are on CRV number two.

The best source of info if you have narrowed down your search is to Google the owners manual for the specific year vehicle. There's typically a section called "Towing" that will give you the procedure to connect and restrictions if any.

For example for my Sonic, I'm supposed to start the car for a few minutes before the trip and a few minutes each time I fuel the motorhome. In supposed to pull a fuse and leave the key in the accessory position. I'm also not supposed to exceed 65 mph when towing. I don't mind any of these restrictions. I drive the car daily and it was inexpensive and gets good fuel mileage.

If I had a big DP I'd probably pull my 2013 Suburban. All I'd have to do for that is put the transfer case in neutral. Done!

Many 4x4 vehicles can be towed 4 down if they have a neutral in the transfer case. For GM trucks, only the 2 speed transfer cases have neutral, but again the owners manuals will be specific.

I like the Blue Ox base plates and the tow bar is not bad. If I had to do it over again, I'd probably go with the Roadmaster tow bar that has channels for the electrical and safety cables. They look really nice. A number of people have pointed out the easyness of the surge brake tow bar setups. I probably would have gone that way if there was more room in the engine compartment in the Sonic.

In regard to towing the GMC Terrain Denali. My 2015 only requires removing one fuse which I put on a toggle switch. So basically I attach the car to the tow bar, flip the toggle switch, shift into neutral, turn the ignition key to the first position and in my case, bleed off the vacuum from the brake booster by pumping the brake pedal about 5 or 6 times and then tow the car. The only restriction is keep your speed at 65 MPH or below.
