I'm am debating the purchase of a Blue Ox Patriot Braking System OR an SMI AF One. Need help to make my decision. My toad is a 2005 Saturn Vue, 4 cylinder, std trans pulled behind a 2007 Phaeton. Which is the easiest to install? Which performs best under normal conditions?

I had a different "brake in a box" system at first. When it went bad, I had it replaced the the SMI Stay-in-Play. I wish had the SMI from day one, flip a switch and I am good to go.

You might want to consider the M&G and the US Gear system also. The top 3 that I see mentioned here are the SMI, M&G and US Gear Unified tow brake system. All have had positive feed back from users. I use the US Gear system and have been very happy with it and it has been trouble free. Glad to see you are adding a Toad braking system.

I've towed with the Roadmaster system and the Unified Brake System from US Gear for the past 4, nearly 5 years. Easy hookup, a no brainer. It's spendy but well worth the money
