Towed windshield
We tow a Jeep JK. I would like to find some way to protect the windshield from debris damage and pitting. Any and all ideas (pictures a plus).

I was considering a padded leather windshield cover, but couldn't find anyone that made or would make one . So for 3 years; 12,000 miles; I haven't used one. I've hit snow covered/ sanded roads every year on my trips south. No noticeable damage above the bumper centerline.
I travel with a flag on the center top of the steering wheel , to make sure toad steering is returning after corners, kind of used to that now, so I guess I'll continue to take my chances.

I'd approach this from the other direction, you need to have mud flaps
and a solid large back flap to prevent anything from being thrown up
from your wheels. The bigger the flaps, the better the protection.
I've towed for over 55,000 with zero damage to the vehicle.

Make a toad skirt: Sunshade fabric, Sail thread, 3/16" or 1/4" shock cord sewed into a tube all around the edge of the fabric. Corners open, additional openings if necessary for wider coaches and vehicles. Eyebolts on "bumpers" of both vehicles and pitons to connect between shock cord and eyebolts. Shock cord slides when you make a turn. Quickly removed when done traveling.

I have standard mud flaps that are wider than the dualies.
No chips in my JK in over 25,000 miles.
2 windshield chips from off-road.

I guess I gotta ask... what makes you think you need a toad windshield protector? Have you had a negative experience in the past?
After 50,000 miles of towing three different toads, I have yet to see any pitting at all. Both of our mh's did have a full width mud flat, plus we have the Roadmaster Guardian (that protects the grill and headlights).
Not sure you even need windshield protection.

Don't remember the manufacturer, but I had a windshield cover for my Grand Cherokee that was designed to go across the windshield and held in place by the friction of the closed doors and the wiper arms. Worked well. It was padded on the side facing the glass. I do not use one on my JK and don't think I have degraded the windshield very much.

Just in case you did not know: Wrangler windshields are notorious rock magnets, being not slanted back much and pretty flat. Most chips there will come from driving it.
Also, a full-width rear flap will scare stuff up from the pavement when you hit a dip, and must be at 4" inches from the pavement when rig is level. But as the tail of the rig rises and falls there are moments of vulnerability.
I suspect that many that have added "bling" with good results also have good standard flaps that are doing a good job.
After I got this rig and toad set up, I left the options open. But, no chips, so no bling.
Some may say, "but if you drive the Al-Can to AK...." But I cannot testify on that. I only know what works for me everywhere else.
