Hello everyone, need some advice on towing an 06 Durango.
I finally got my towing capabilities worked out with fleetwood and it looks like I will be able to tow my 06 2wd Durango. I know I will need a driveshaft disconnect.
My questions are What else do I have to do to tow the durango? Does the key have to be in the on position? Do I disconnect the battery, etc.?
Thanks in advance for all help

The key will need to be in the off position to unlock the steering wheel if needed but not in the on or run position.

Normally, the battery does not need to be disconnected, but check your owners manual to see if it has towing instructions.

On my '03 Dakota, there is a position between lock and on that unlocks the steering wheel but does not turn on the ignition. The olny thing that comes on is the light for the gear shift indicator.

Too bad your Durango isn't 4x4, they are towable 4-down, with the part time 4x4 - like my Dakota.
