My rig may be higher even Im not sure. The distance from the hitch ball to the bumper center is about 16-18 inches.
Nice looking Jeep.
On a previous coach I had to use a riser to bring the receiver up several inches so where the tow bar was pretty level. On my current coach the rear up the coach is higher and I am straight into the receiver. All depends on your particular situation. Tow bar manufacturers will provide guidance on how level it should be. I think BO is something like up to 3-4" difference.
If you are going to tow with a ball receiver and A-frame tow bar, you can get a drop receiver and flip it over if needed to bring the ball higher. A previous towing setup I did this, had a Reese A-frame tow bar. Fab'ed up brackets to connect the tow bar to the bumper D-rings.
A tow bar that stays with the coach and has telescoping arms for easy hook-up, such as my BO, is much easier to connect/disconnect. And not having to mount/unmount the tow bar is very nice. But an A-frame tow bar on a ball receiver will gwt the job done and for not much money. I towed this way for many years.
