Towing 2004 Chevy Avalanche

Have seen Avalanche being towed behind RV's on the interstate. I have a 2004 Z71 2X and 4X WD with auto trans. Do I need a conversion kit to disengage the gears? LazyDays says I can tow it. Have checedk the manual, found nothing. called chevy dealer (warner Robins, GA) They stared at me like a deer and headlight.

can anyone shine some light?

We have towed that very vechile for over 50,000 miles. Look at user manual for procedure to put transfer case in neutral, very simple to do. We used the Blue Ox for tow bar and Air Firce 1 brake system. The only issue is that it is a heavy truck close to 6000 pounds.
