Just purchased a 2011 FWD Equinox. Does the Equinox rack up miles while be towed four down? Equinox replaced our jeep Liberty. It would not register miles while being towed.

Thanks

I have same question with my Enclave, the owners manuel speaks to pulling two fuses, 50 amp Battery and another 15 amp for ECM. When I pull both, the next time I start up, all memory functions are wiped out. I wonder how necessary it is to pull the fuses. On my 2008 Saturn Vue, there was one fuse and it did not delete anything. I don't want mileage to register while towing, but seems there is nothing else except pulling fuses. Anyone have an answer???

Can't help with your Enclave as with our Equinox you only have to pull one 5 amp logic fuse ( which I have installed a switch to do) and no memories are lost. Don't know why you must pull the battery fuse and lose all memories after you pulled the EMC fuse. I guess only a good service manger could find out for you. Sure makes our Equinox easy to set up.

My 2007 Acadia is a sister to your Enclave. I pull only the 50A fuse and only lose the clock setting. The additional ECM fuse must be something new in later years, or maybe something unique to Enclave. It should not record mileage as long as the key is not in the ON position.

Does your Enclave owner manual specify the ECM fuse in the towing instructions? See Recreational (Dinghy) Towing in the owner manual.

Wanted to avoid magnetic lights or trying to drill in extra bulbs. Wanted the look and brightness of factory tail and rear side marker lights. First comment I got from dear wife was "your not cutting the wiring of my new car".
Purchased Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4 Pole Trailer Connector which gave me male/female pigtails to be installed behind both tail lights after unplugging them. Don't have or want a hitch on Equinox so i cut off everything but the pigtails. Then I purchased Tow Ready Tail Light Isolating Diode System with 4-Pole Connector
which mount behind the tail lights also [ plenty of room behind them ] and must be spliced into the wiring. I did my cutting and splicing into the purchased pigtails and completed the install per instructions. A little more work and about $30 more but if any problems ever arise I will merely unplug the pigtails out of the system and replug the tail lights into the factory wiring. Any questions give me a private email as these explanations get kind of windy.

Just a quick follow up. With several trips under belt we are very happy with our decision to go with the Chevy Equinox toad. Tows nicely with a minimum setup procedure. Adding a switch to the 5 amp fuse to disconnect helped the wife immensely. No problem with the auto trans, not to heavy and very roomy for 4 sightseers. I am not knocking any other brand for toads, just stating we are very happy with our Equinox.

Recieved my tow brackets & wiring from etrailer.com -- They are prompt shippers -- The video on their web site made the install easy, & with the help from George Z on the wiring -- Installed a switch so I wouldn`t have to pull the 5amp fuse, & a 12v socket for the Brake Buddy -- I made a panel for the switch & socket from black plastic, so I wouldn`t have to cut holes in the car dash -- Thanks George for your help -- Bill Willard
