Towing 2011 jeep grand cherokee

Hello all, I am interested in flat towing a jeep grand Cherokee with my 2013 tuscany 42wx. I have never flat towed any vehicle before and would like some insights on the necessary equipment I will need to purchase. Do I need a brake controller and what is needed for the jeep? Any help is appreciated as we are heading to Florida at he end of the month and DW wants to bring her car.

First, you need to make sure you have a Jeep that CAN be flat-towed. What transmission do you have? 4WD or 2WD?

The ability to tow 4 down depends on wether your jeep is 2 or 4 wheel drive. 4 wheel drive can be towed 4 down as long you have the ability to put your transfer switch in neutral. Your owners manual will tell you if you can. I use iRVbraking system which has been good. You might also check the hitch drop from your RV to the jeep. Any more than 4 inches is to much which will require a drop down bracket .

It is 4 wheel drive. Is there a complete setup available from 1 manufacturer?

Jeep has three 4 wheel drive transfer cases. You have to make sure your's has a neutral postion or it can't be towed. I think all the tow-bar makers have complete packages. We have a sponsor here RV Upgrades who has very good prices.
