towing 2014 chevy spark

Just got Falcon 5250 tow bar and base plate installed on chevy spark,,,I am guessing that I need to tow with the arms extended..Is this correct...Can I tow with arms retracted???

Arms will retract automatically once you start the tow and stop.

The arms extend when you pull the car. No, you cannot tow with the arms retracted. You have to retract the arms manually to stow the tow bar.
