Towing 2014 Toyota CamryXLE

Is anyone towing a Camry on a Acme Dolly? If so how did you disconnect steering wheel lock on keyless ignition system? Thank you in advance.

It's clear as mud. Page 154 of the owner's manual:
"■Steering lock
After turning the “ENGINE START STOP” switch off and opening and closing
the doors, the steering wheel will be locked due to the steering lock function.
Operating the “ENGINE START STOP” switch again automatically cancels
the steering lock."

http://www.toyota.com/t3Portal/docum...f/OM33A82U.pdf

You'll just have to (A) leave someone in the car while towing. or (B) leave a window down so you can reach in and push the ENGINE START STOP switch again to cancel the steering lock. (C) Check with a Toyota service technician and see if they have a remedy.

Thank you so very much. I was going to talk to service Manager Monday. I was just wondering if anyone else had done it. May have to use a swivel pan dolly. I may be able to pull fuse on electric Pwr strg . I will also call Acme. Again thanks.

The other thought would be, since the steering wheel lock engages when you close the door, it must be an electrically controlled function. Perhaps the steering wheel lock could be disabled by cutting a wire or pulling a fuse. Check with Toyota to find out. Many car models don't have the SWL anymore, so I assume it's not government mandated.

I have just checked out putting veh in accessory mode and steering is unlocked. I am going to put Amp meter on Battery to check Current Draw with all accessories turned off. I may be able to do this if current draw is not excessive. Thanks for all the help.
