Can the "NEUTRAL IN TRANSFER CASE" be retrofitted on a stock tranny?

When I'm not in right mind, my left mind gets pretty crowded.

According to MotorHome magazine, all 2009 G-6's are towable 4-down except the convertible. Your owners manual will list the steps to take for doing this.

Before buying I would ask to look at the operators manuals under the towing section. FMCA has a pdf for each year back to 2000 that list towables. Pretty good source for selecting a used vehicle.

Remco lists are conservative and may not list all towables such as my RX300 and other vehicles. Just check the Mfgr operators manual before buying.

I can only speak from my experience but the short answer would be "Yes". But that doesn't mean it applies to all 4x4s without NEUTRAL selection option from the factory. If you have a specific vehicle in mind I'd first make see if it had a NEUTRAL (in transfer case). If not, I'd search the forum (and net) to see if anyone makes a kit or has details to DIY.

I see llnks and recommendations for the FMCA, and Motorhome mag.

Try Remcotowing.. There are many vehicles that can not be towed so long as they are "Automobiles" (Cars or pIck Ups) but which can be easily converted into Trailers (And back to Automobiles) by addition of one or another device that Remco-Towing sells.

For example I used to tow a 1992 Chevy Lumina APV till it "passed on' (Old age) In automobile mode it drove just like any other of it's ilk, in trailer mode you put the trans in PARK of all gears, and towed it with the wheels turning freely,, Epically the right front..

The issue on many vehicles is that without engine power the fluid does not circulate in the tranny, this causes bearings to overheat due to running dry and size up.. Remco also sells a pump that runs on 12vdc and provides the needed fluid to lubricate the bearings.

My preference is for the passive devices (Axle lock for FWD which I used or Drive Shaft Disconnect for a RWD) Because the technologh here is older than I am and the mean time between failures.. I'm not that old yet. But to each his own.
