Has anyone out there towed a Chevrolet Equinox with a class c motorhome 4 wheels down? Had any problems, etc.

Earlier model Equinox are not towable without mods. You must have one with the 6T70 transmission, which is all 2010 and later, and 2008-2009 with the 3.6L engine (NOT the 3.4L).

With that caveat, the Equinox makes an excellent toad. Just check your tow capacity and GCWR on the motorhome vs the weight of the toad. Some C's have a 3500 lb limit, while others may be 5000 lbs. The Equinox will exceed the 3500 lb limit.

Thanks for the reply. Will be looking at towing a 2011 or 2012 Equinox with a Jayco Melbourne 29d. Do not have either yet, but possibly by July or Aug.

A 4wd Equinox weighs in at over 4,200 lbs with liquids. This is way too much for a typical Class C tow hitch.

But the Jayco Melbourne 29D is not typical, the entire line has a 5,000 lb hitch. Good for Jayco.
