I just purchased a used 2005 Saturn Vue with the
V-6 engine and a automatic transmission and I have read that when I tow my Saturn I need to stop every 7 or 8 hours and cycle the shift lever and wait 3 minutes , does anyone own a vehicle like mind and I would appriciate any input. My email address is bobend@msn.com

bobendrv;

First let me welcome you to IRV2. I see this is your first post. We are glad you found us. We have a great group of folks here who are most happy to help you with any questions.

I have a 07 Vue with a V6 engine with 5 speed trans. My manual states the following.

With the engine running shift from drive to neutral and let the engine run for 3 minutes and then turn it off. This procedure must be performed every 7 hours due to drain back of the fluid. In other words, if you tow for 2 hours and sit for 5 hours you must repeat the above procedure. Locate the large IGN fuse from the underhood fuse block and remove. I eliminated this process by hard wiring in a switch in the dash.

Warning; towing your vehicle after shifting from any gear but drive could damage your transmission.

My manual also says the 4 speed has unlimited miles at 65 MPH.

I would definitely check your manual as it may be different than mine.

Enjoy your travels & post often and keep us posted on your travel experiences.

Don

Petro has the right stuff for ya there.

I restart my toad during our lunch break and I cycle the shifter through the forward gears for about 3 minutes.

Remember, "Do not shift to Reverse and then Neutral before you shut down your Saturn V6 Vue" You must go through Drive (forward gears) and then Neutral before shutdown.

On the 04 model all that had to be pulled was a 10A BCM Cluster fuse in the interior passenger sidewall fuse panel.

Check your owner's manual.

I hope you've done the research as to which fuze to pull, if not, you'll end up with a dead battery.

Generally if we stop for gas or rest stop, I run the engine for 5 minutes. You must ALWAYS shift from drive to neutral, just prior to towing.

Other than that, it is a dream to tow, eapecially since you have quite a big MH.

Good Luck.
