Flat-tow a 2008 Edge AWD, although not too many miles yet (approx 5000). No issues and easy to do. Just unlock steering column, trans in neutral, and run for several minutes beginning of day and several minutes approx every 300-400 miles when making stops.

I have an 08 AWD and have towed it 4 down since 2014 with no issues. Towed from Michigan to New Orleans and back then to Texan and back.

We flat tow edge 2013 Sport AWD 3.7 according to our manual the edge you can not tow 4 wheels down is the Eco boost engine. Also can't tow with option crash avoid cruise control (forget the option name ) for obvious reason.

It's called Adaptive Cruise Control
You can tow with GAP but the tow bar hook up comes out a lot higher in the grill. Here is the difference

2016 Edge Wiring?

This is all good discussion, and I read the same material in the owners manual. However, working with the hitch specialists and Blue Ox reps, the Edge now has "multi-plex" wiring, which means most wiring kits no longer work - and they recommend using a light bar or magnetic towing lights. Has anyone found a wiring kit that works with this new wiring configuration? Thanks for any insight.

The company who installed my set up recommended from the beginning not tying into the wiring on our 2011 Edge. He simply built a light bar that slips into the hitch receiver and plugs into the existing pigtail. It is a very simple set up.

If we want to use our bike rack I just use a hitch spliter and it all works nice and neat.

2016 Edge Sport

I have discussed this with two 2016 Edge Sports with the 2.7L Eco boost and both have not had any issues using the existing lights. I will be getting our Sport setup later this year.

The light bar in the hitch concept sounds like a good idea. I'll mention that possibility to the hitch installer. Thanks!
