Though the dealer may have a great reputation, I believe you were working with a VERY inexperienced staffer. If they have the kind of reputation you're talking about, sounds like they have people that know what they're talking about, but the person you were talking to maybe not so much?
Maybe seek out the service manager for some help/advice?
