I have just had a braking system on my 2010 jeep Liberty. The owners manual says nothing about disconecting the battery. But the Road Master guidlines on the web states that acording to the owners manual the battery must be disconected.

I believe that the 2010 is the same as my 2008. On mine, there is no steering wheel lock, so the Liberty can be towed without the key inthe ignition and no battery disconnect.

You can check by turning the steering wheel without the key in. If you can, then there is no lock, and no battery disconnect. The manual transmission model can be towed, but I believe there is a steering wheel lock on it, so you need the key in the first position past lock, and you need to disconnect the battery to keep from draining it. You can get power for your braking system from the motorhome. I don't know what fuses you could pull to eliminate the battery dsiconnect. Maybe you could check with your dealer.

Towed a 2007 Liberty over 30000 Miles with a M&G Brake System and never had a battery problem with key in unlock position. Brake lights and tail lights on seperate leads. Different brake systems have different problems. M&G system - plug it in and go, unplug and go somemore.

If the battery needs to be disconnected get a battery disconnect switch.

I installed one of these BATTERY CUTOFF SWITCH CAR RV BOAT RACECAR ATV and it works great.
