Towing Base plate for 2008 Mini hatchback

I took my 2008 Mini Cooper hatchback (No S) to an RV dealer to install a Blue Ox base plate. They ordered in part no. BX 1304 but the bolt holes did not align and they could not install it without severe modification. The mechanic was uncomfortable doing that so I just requested my money back and they said okay. Just curious to see if anyone has encountered a similar problem. Thanks

We tow a 2007 Mini Cooper S -- we have the Blue Ox baseplate 1307 with the Blue Ox Alpha Tow Bar BX7365 -- did install ourselves.
Did you call Blue Ox direct to find the correct base plate part for your Mini? They are helpful.

Thanks for your quick reply. I just looked at blueox.com and that showed to be the correct part number (I also checked the box and it was BX 1304) I'm not very mechanical but I can follow directions and I'm about ready to attempt it myself. I supose the worst thing could happen is that I have to take it to a hitch installer. Did you order the optional wiring kit?

Ditto on calling Blue Ox.

No, did not order optional wiring kit. DH used auxillary lighting system that he made up himself. The lights sit on the back package tray.
