It's usually a transmission lubrication issue.

GM owners manuals are the bottom line for towing.

Contact Remco Towing.

They will have the answer.

Dealers usually have little experience with towing 4 down and probably don't know.

If you tow the vehicle with all four wheels on the ground, the drivetrain components could be damaged. The repairs would not be covered
by his warranty.

He will have to have a Remco put on - or tow it with a dolly.

A manual transmission should not be damaged by towing, so it could be a stability issue. The Aveo has a very short wheelbase and could be unstable.

I guess I should have had quotes around my first part.. It is GM's official stance on it

The Aveo is FWD. It's possible that the trans/engine system are integrated in such a manner that even in neutral, something (whatever it is) is turning/spinning and requires lubrication when towed beyond some short distance (like 50 miles towing due to breakdown)... Of course, it's also possible that GM never did any durability testing for the Aveo engine/trans combination for flat towing... therefor, they will not warrant that is can be done. That's my 2 guesses, because there are many european brand manual trans car that are not listed as being flat towing capable...
