Towing Dodge / Jeep 4x4

The May 2014 issue of MOTORHOME, Page 145 there is a letter "Towing a Dodge 4x4". The writer says when towing with the key in AUX position if you happen to pull the toad over a curb in a sharp turn the locking pIn can engage locking the steering wheel, doing damage. Chrysler claims this can't happen, but the writer had spoken to other owners that have had the same problem. He was able to disengage the lock by removing the pin. Has anyone else had this happen? I have towed our 95 Dakota Crew about 5000 miles with no issues. I assume if you remove the pin there would be no reason to have a key in the ignition? Does anyone know the procedure to remove the pin? Thanks!

Wonder if it has something to do with the size, weight of the keyring?

Don't know about Dodges, but Jeeps haven't had steering wheel locks since '07 or so.
