Not sure what year it is but my sisters tows their crv 4 down behind the mh...
iirc, the bought a crv just for the reason it could be towed that way....
I'd just call Honda with your year, model, tranny, and ask them.... they are the best to ask .
good luck...

Have you checked the vehicle manual ? It will tell you if you can and if so what has to be done to do so.

The ONLY current model vehicles approved by Honda for towing four down are all models of the FIT and CR-V. That includes the AWD CR-V's too.

Although not approved by Honda, we tow a 2001 FWD V6 Accord. We have been towing it four down for over four years. We have a procedure we go through every morning before starting out and repeat the procedure every eight hours if we are still driving after that time. We have not had a problem with it yet.

Take a look at your manual. On my 2013 CRV it deals specifically with towing four down and gives detailed instruction to do so. Not sure about the FWD but the manual should tell you. Mine is the AWD, Touring model.

Probably has more to do with the frame being able to handle the front tow bars. Just a guess, otherwise i wouldn't see any other reason a FWD couldn't handle being towed.

billbale,
All the later CRVs are towable, including the 2WD and 4WD. But, there are drive train changes in model years so, it would be wise for you to dig into the owners manual for your specific year to make sure that, THAT SPECIFIC YEAR is flat towable. It doesn't matter if a '13 or a '12 or just about any year is towable. It only matters if the year/model you have is, without issues. I can say that ''ANY'' CRV is towable but, that would be a guess on my part.
So, either look up the owners manual for the specific model/year you have or, head to the dealer and see if they've got Written documentation that applies to the year you want to tow.

My manual on my 2006 front wheel drive says I can tow it 4 wheels down, which I have done since last Dec.

We have towed our 2007 2WD CRV since the day it was bought. CRVs (both 2WD and 4WD) are likely one of the most frequently used vehicles to tow four down. There is a section in the CRV owner's manual called Recreational Towing that will give the procedure.

Up until 2005 all Honda's could be towed four down. Honda's statement was that they didn't know of any reason they couldn't be. But people didn't follow the written instructions for doing so and Honda had to rebuild a bunch of transmissions so the legal dept and the bean counters got together and changed it to only allowing the FIT and CR-V.
Even our '05 Ody, that we bought specifically after getting Honda's assurance in writing that it was towable they decided it wasn't. They paid us about $2,200 NOT to tow it four down. But, over the years I've seen them and talked to the owners and they say it's not a problem. SO, I wired in a charge line a month or two ago and am going to tow it four down.
