It tows like a dream. Just make sure your steering wheel is free to turn the wheels when you're ready to go.
We had a dummy key made, for in the ignition, just for towing. The key allows the steering wheel to be unlocked, but without it having a chip in it, in case some jerk tries to unhook & steal it while we're getting lunch inside a truckstop, the dummy key will prevent the Jeep from being driven. It will start the Jeep, but within seconds the engine will shut down because the electronics realize it's not a chipped key.

The Jeep Liberty is a 4x4 with towable transfer case, correct? If yes, they make an excellent toad. Moderate weight. Good room inside. Etc.

Liberty
We are towing a 2006 Liberty, No issues as of yet. I did have trouble finding the sweet spot with the key to unlock the steering wheel. I put a battery disconnect on and now turn the key to the run position. I do not have to worry about a dead battery when I get to my destination. Only issue is I have to reprogram the radio stations.

Thanks for the replies but I never saw any reference to the 460.
What are people towing with 460 or V10?

I've towed a 2007 Jeep Liberty since 2008 - 1st by a Class C and now by a Class A. Back in the 90's the 460 was the big gas motor then the V10 came along as the big gas motor. Either motor was good for when it was being used. Dave
