Towing JKU Wrangler with wide wheels?

We tow two Jeeps. I recently put 305's (12" wide) wheels on the Wrangler. The wider wheel tends to dart on uneven roads. Does anyone tow a Jeep with wide wheels or know if this will also cause a problem towing it?

Towing JKU Wrangler with wide wheels?

I think you mean a 12" wide tire, not a 12" wide wheel. I have 33"x13.5 tires on 10" wide wheels. Many folks here flat tow lifted keeps with oversize tires. Not a problem.

Since you went with wider tires and wheels have you checked the height of the hitch? It almost sounds like due to the change in Toad height you need to change the tow bar height.

Sorry, I did mean tires....not wheels. I'm aware of the 2.5" lift on the Wrangler and will be measuring the height between the two vehicles. When the coach airs up it sits about 2" higher than the Jeep Liberty so I'm hoping the Wrangler will be about even. I'll be finding out in about two weeks when we get ready to role down to AZ.

A Jeep with wide tires and wheels will not dart if set up properly. My Jeep has 33 x 13.50 tires mounted on 10" rims and does not dart on any road surface. With your lift you may have lost enough caster to allow it to wander. I would recommend for you to have the alignment checked for proper caster and toe.

I was thinking about that because I've been driving 265 studded snows all winter and it drives like a dream. When I went to the 305's I got the wandering.
