Towing - Mazda 2 2011

Hi All. I would like to tow my mazda behind my motorhome. Can I and what is required? Does anyone else tow a mazxa behind their motorhome. Thanks

A 2011 Mazda 2 is NOT recommended for towing 4 down, manual pg 7-24 (232).

If it could be towed (perhaps you have a manual transmission?) you would need to buy and install a base plate that mounts to your car's front frame behind the bumper, a tow bar to hook the car's base plate to the receiver of the RV hitch, towing lights and I highly suggest an auxiliary braking system to stop or slow down the car.

Mazda and most "experts" will tell you that NO Mazda product can be flat towed. I have towed a 2000 Miata (35,000 miles) and am now towing a 2012 Miata (15,000 miles) and that is the response that I got when I asked.

If your Mazda has an automatic transmission it CANNOT be towed.
If it is a manual transmission, it may be able to be towed.

Look at the major towing equipment manufacturers to see if any of them makes a base plate for your car. If they DO, there are people towing them.

It doesn't look like Roadmaster has any tow brackets for the Mazda 2. Your only choice would be a tow dolly.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I will do some more research and find a vehicle that can be towed behind my MH 4 down.
