We're currently contemplating replacing our tow car with a Subaru Forester W/manual transmission. We presently tow a Honda Civic with receivers coming from under the bumper cutting down on front clearance. Our tow bar is a Roadmaster Falcon 5250. We wish to avoid this and have base plates extending through the grill. Does anyone have knowledge and/or experience with this vehicle?

If it's a newer Forester, it's not too low.

I don't know what brackets you are using on your Civic but my Civic uses the Roadmaster EZ brackets and they come through the grill. I installed them myself. Took one morning.
