Towing Suzuki at 55 mph

I own a 2010 Suzuki Grand Vitara. The manual states that this car can only be towed up to 55 mph. Has anyone who ownes this vehicle had problems towing at 70 mph ?

We've had our 06 GV up to 75, on downgrades where you could see the immediate upgrade.

I do recommend runnng the engine per owners manual for at least the first year of towing. It may be the most bulletproof tow ever.

I have towed my 03 Suzuki XL-7 (long wheelbase Vitara) at mostly 65 plus MPH for over 150,000 miles. Start engine and run through the gears every 200 miles when towing. Also driven an additional 100,000 miles. The only repairs have been batteries, brakes and front wheel bearings.

IMHO a bulletproof tow.

I have a 4 door Chevrolet Tracker four wheel drive 1998 and have thousands of miles towing it. Put it in four wheel drive nutural and transimission in drive. Re start and run thru gears every 200 miles or so. Never had a problem. Tires, brakes and recharge the A/C. Great light weight toad. Do not remember anything about speed limit but hardly ever get over 60 anyway.
