towing the ford edge ( battery dying )

I have been towing my edge for 3 years with no problems until now.
When i am hooked up to my motorhome the battery on my edge is toast in 2 hours. It only happens when its being towed.
i have everything turned off in the car ex. radio/ ac/ fan/ lights everything.
has anypne had the same problem? and if so what was the solution?
I have the ignition key turned 1 notch to unlock the sterring wheel.
after charging the battery it holds the charge without problem while driving around.
I did noticed that when the battery is almost totally drained the radio goes on and the cd changer starts trying to shuffle the cds. even tho i had it turn off. any help will be apreciated

Are you using any kind of toad braking system that draws on the battery ?
Have you had the battery load tested ?
Same battery over the years ? Are you running a charge wire from the coach?
Once the battery is low on power , any number of issues can occur with electronics. 10v is the usual scramble threshold .

That vehicle will act pretty normal even if the battery is not fully charged. If nothing has changed, I would have the battery tested. It may be cheaper just to change it because a test cycle with a GR190 at the dealer would likely cost you $40 and a possible battery. At minimum I would take it to a local parts store and see what they test the battery at.

My husband and I had the same problem. Every time we traveled when we reached our destination the car battery would be dead. We would get a jump, let the battery charge and could drive the car with no problem. Next destination the car battery would be dead. We replaced the battery and spent the last three months on the road with no problems. Good luck!
