We are looking to purchase an 09 Fleetwood Pulse, but are concerned about towing our Honda Civic. We are especially concerned with the motorhome engine/transmission issues ie. power and/or overheating. Any insight from owners that have towed with the diesel is appreciated.
Many Thanks
KC

Irregardless of what anyone else says about towing with this engine and transmission, I would first look at the tow ratings published by the chassis manufacturer and see if your dinghy falls under the weight limits. If you are within the chassis limits, then you can see what has been the experience of owners.

We purchased our 2006 Winnebago View in August 2005 and have towed our 2006 Scion xA four-down ever since - no problems - and our Mercedes diesel is the inline 5-cylinder version, same horsepower as the newer V-6 but slightly less torque.

Our Scion weighs about 2,500 lbs. all set up for towing and the View handles it very well. I should say we did - one time only, for about 30 miles - tow a Ford Escape on a tow dolly. Too heavy - bagged that idea fast.

Trips with the Scion tagging along have included many mountain passes and other whopping hills across this GREAT country --- the Mercedes diesel does quite well.
