I have a 7 year old towmaster dolly. If I back off of it at a slight angle, the plate moves, but I can't get it straight again to load the car. This makes it very diffcult to put the car back on. I have tried beating the plate with a 4x4 and it doesn't budge
I have tried contacting towmaster but the don't respond to e-mails or phone calls.
Does any one know the size of the nut and bolt on the swivel plate. None of my sockets are that big. I need to loosen the nut, clean the pads and maybe add some type of lubricant.
The manual says you should be able to move the plate with moderate resistance.

Any help would be appreciated.

My BIL has a Towmaster. When the pan did not move properly we had to remove center bolt that pan rotates on. This allowed us to remove pan. We them cleaned surfaces and lubricated with marine grease before we reassembled it. He now lubricates it every year.
