Towmate Wireless Lights
Thinking about getting this for use on our toad. If I do decide to purchase, I will get the 7 pin wireless transmitter to put on the MH.
Anyone using this system on their toad and what do you like/dislike about it?
Sincerely,
Alex
PS: I really don't want to hardwire the brake, turn lights on our toad if at all possible.

I've had one for about 6 years. Love it. I did have to replace the batteries in the light once as they quit holding a decent charge. The only drawback is that if you're on the road for MANY hours, the light can start to run down. I've found a way to route the charging wire out the back window of my Jeep and plug it into the unit if that happens. Even when the batteries start to let go, it doesn't turn off ALL the lights, just a few of the LEDs.

Alex, I don't have the system but I did read up on it http://www.towmate.com/documents/Lig...structions.pdf before I did my lights.
I just used a four wire trailer light extension cord back to the light bar. These look a little techy to me to be totally reliable.

If you've never used them how can you say they are unreliable? They are used on tow trucks all over the world, that should account for something. Mine have never failed me.

What I said was, to me they look too techy to be totally reliable. My reason for concern was if there is a signal failure, a receiver failure, a complete battery failure you are going to be with out lights, with no chance of immediate repair.
Happy you are pleased with the system, sorry I touched your hot button.

Bought one on ebay. Sent a message for them to include the 7 pin RV transmitter. Should be here Tues. I will post an update as soon as we get to use it. Thanks everyone for the input!
HAGD,
Alex
