Toyota Highlander

A while back i posted a thread on towing a highlander. Most people said no get another tow vehicle.
We just got back from the Dallas rv show and several of the salesmen told us to call Dallas drive shaft that they set the toyota highlander all wheel drive up for towing wheels down all the time. They put a driveshaft disconnect for the rear and some kind of a cooler for the front drive train?
Has any one had any experience with this.We have the highlander that is paid for would like to keep it,but DO NOT want to make a mistake. We will buy another vehicle if we have to,but we need the cargo space that a suv has.
Thank you

I have not towed a car behind an RV but am beginning to do research on this. I am starting by looking at options that do not require modifications to the towed vehicle. Is this the company s/he was talking about? DriveShaft King- DriveShaft Disconnect

We did some research on the driveshaft disconnect and transmission cooler, and after a talk with several mechanics we said no.We found a jeep grand cherokee 2006 70000 miles so we bought it.This will tow 4 down and jeep says it can be done.
We hate to sell the highlander as it has been a good vehicle, but we are changing our life style(going full time) so we went with most m/h owners are using.I am selling the highlander and lexus today. One step closer.
Keep me posted. Tim

I can't speak directly to the Highlander. I had the same situation with a Toyota 4Runner a sister to the Highlander. It was paid for and I wanted to keep it. I went with a drive shaft dis-connect. I have used it for two years with no problems. Mine is a Remco.
