I thought it over, there will be a tackle you have to take - while being towed and idling (in theory), how to keep engine/motor running so to circulate the fluid? no press on the gas pedal yet
The only way I can see this would be to turn on the Air conditioner or heater, depending on time of year. The heater would start the engine when it needed to heat the cabin of if the battery needs charging. The AC would need to start the engine to recharge the battery since the AC (at least in my 2011 Prius & 2010 Camry Hybrid) is run electrically and would discharge the battery otherwise. I don't know if that is true for the OP's 2003 model.

Then there is finding an appropriate brake system, tow plate, and lights. Personally, if we had planned on keeping the Prius (we traded in the Camry for a CRV) as a toad, I would own a dolly now. Way too many ifs around trying to tow the Prius 4 down.

Yes it maybe more trouble than its worth. That's a good point about the trans fluid the transaxle is a unique design that makes the hybrid system possible its a continuously variable transmission CVT has no gears that shift. Think I'll just trade for a 6 speed Mini Cooper and for get about this prius it's not that great 45 mpg.
