Trailer electrical problem

Have a 2006 Fleetwood Excursion 39L. I've lost the signal to the TOAD right turn indicator and right brake light. The problem is on the MH hitch side. Had repair shop replace fuse once and it must have blown again.

Question 1: Any idea where the trailer fuse box is located? I've read I should turn on the hazard lights and listen for the relays...will do if no one knows the location!

Question 2: Any thoughts on what might be causing the fuses to blow?

Thanks,
George

You've stated what make and model of coach you have but, not the chassis. If it's a Freightliner, there's a few places that the trailer plug fuses can be. On ours, which is an '04 Itasca Horizon, 36GD with the C-7 330HP CAT, they're located up underneath the left rear leuvered panel for our dash A/C access. The panel has to be lifted to gain access.

On other Winnebago's, it's in the shore power compartment, sometimes behind a removable panel. The smart thing to do for you would be to call Fleetwood and get wiring information on your particular coach. That will lead you right to where it's located. And, as far as WHY you blow fuses IN THAT SYSTEM, every now and then, there' can be all kinds of reasons. Once that comes to mind is, some of the strands of wire, from each input, can become un-attached or, un-clamed from inside the back of the trailer plug and, can actually come in contact with each other on occasion which, in certain circumstances, will blow a fuse.

There's lots more potentially bad spots in wiring that will cause that situation of blow repetitive fuses. You'd have to trace that particular circuit to find out why.

Fleetwood usually puts the trailer plug fuses separate form all the rest. I typically find them in the inverter bay. If not there look in all the bays for a 4-6 ATO fuse block. It should be clearly marked.

It's a Freightliner. I'm thinking it's in a separate fuse block from the driver console area. Will check the rear left near the inverter bay.

On my 2006 Fleetwood Discovery it is located inside the compartment behind the rear (dirty and in need of polishing) wheels, passenger side. You can easily find the box by turning on a signal that works and walk around listening for the relay noise clicking.
On my coach the relays and fuses are in the right side box.
