Transmission pumps

I have seen advertised electric pumps that can be fitted to the transmission of the toad so front wheel drive cars can be towed flat. Anyone using these?

Yes. 4 years, 16,000 miles, no problems . Remco web site has a list of vehicles that will work with their pumps.

Store : Remco

Virago-Rider,
The transmission pumps you're speaking of are mainly manufactured by "Remco". They are installed, basically in the transmission cooling lines. The pump is triggered mostly by the ignition system of the coach. There are many folks who've had good luck and, there's some, who've had some serious destruction of perfectly good transmissions because of a malfunction of either the pump itself or, the wiring between the coach and the toad or, other factors.

You'll have to decide whether you want to "trust" one these pumps or not. As stated, some have had good luck. I'm not a fan of them. I personally would rather get a vehicle that's flat towable with no special operations to do so. But, that's just the way I like it. Others will vary. I'm not trying to scare you. You asked about them so, I thought I'd present at least one mans opinion. If you choose to go with one of them, good luck and I hope it works flawlessly for you.

I appreciate it, I am looking at all options. We have had 5th wheels before this. But, with dad's health, traveling in a MH will be easier for him.

Been around this forum and the other one for years, many years, and I really only recall maybe one or two folks that may have had problems with the lube pump. More good stores than not.
