Truck Bed Slide

Has anyone built their own bed slide for a pickup truck? I have a Lear topper on my Colorado and when we go fishing the bed is full of stuff. And it seems like whatever I need is in the front of the bed. I have priced them on line and cheapest is about $1,000. I think I can build a slide for about $250. My plan is to use aluminum 2x2x1/4 U channel and aluminum 2x2x1/4 L channel and 15x35x11 mm bearings bolted to the L channel running inside the U channel with 3/4 plywood screwed to the L channel. If needed I will add 1 1/2" wheels to the center to prevent sagging. The weight of all our gear is about 400 lbs. Most of that being generator and tool box. Thanks.
