Upgrading the Rig and maybe the Toad

We have been towing with our gas Class A A Jeep four-door Wrangler which has worked out great. We are looking at upgrading to a new diesel with 340hp, 700 torque, hitch rated at 10,000. We have a brand new 2018 ford expedition platinum max 4x4 that I thought about pulling. Do you guys know if I can pull that Ford? The only reason why I’m thing about making the change is the kids are getting bigger and we travel with our corgis making it hard to put everyone in the Jeep. Thoughts

Just because your DP has an 10k hitch does not mean it can tow 10k. Yu need to look at the GCWR and GVWR of the DP. You will also find out that most of the entry level DP's are using the 6.7ltr cummins engine with a 2500 or less Allison transmission. Which by the way is not setup to tow 10k but only 5k.
So without more info on your new DP I can't give you better advice.

What they said. I question what the real towing capacity is and whether a 340 hp w 700# torque would do very well with a heavy Expedition 4X4. I towed a 6200# Avalanche with 330 Cat with 800 # torque. It was ok on the flat, but sure dragged back in the mountains.
