US Gear unified tow brake/cost/purchase

Can the u.s. Unified brake be purchased on line from any source other than u.s. Gear? Prices are 1,000.00-1300.00 there. Are there less expensive sites to purchase from?? If you had it installed would you mind giving some prices for brake and installation or did you purchase brake on line and then take it to a dealer to install? Thanks for all the info, we're trying to get things done so that we can take our first trip in the motorhome.

If you do an on-line search for US Gear, several sources will come up. Only research will answer your question on installation. I am looking at this system myself, but will probably contract with my local MH dealer for installation -have not obtained a quote yet.

Depending on type of MH you have it could be cheaper. Does your MH already have the 7 pin trailer hook up to the back of the MH? If so you can get by with the TV-100k for about $800.00.

A wise choice - great system.
It appears that PPL in Houston has the best deal and with free shipping included (It's a heavy box). Ebay had one but not a "deal".
There is a multi page thread here that might be helpful however I do not remember anyone quoting their installation price. Most of us did the installation.
Whistle if we can help

We got ours at the Quartzite RV show for $850.00 Last day of show and dealer didn't want to take it home. Several quotes on installation. Depends on car and motor home. I would guess around $600.00 to $800.00 to have it installed. I did it on one car and had it done on another. Joe

I received a quote from a dealer for $1000 for parts, $600 for installation--that for a 09 Monaco which supposedly is pre-wired. Probably going to go with an AFO, cause that's what the local dealer sells.

FWIW, we just had a complete tow system installed on our Class C Monaco and Jeep Wrangler.
The MH needed a 6 pin plug installed.
The tow system is a Road Master tow setup.
Braking is handled by the US Gear Unified braking unit.
We just completed a trip using this setup and were very pleased with the performance.
The total price for our install was in the neighborhood of 3K if Im not mistaken.
